Conscious Quickie: Spheres

9 Jan

Conscious Quickie for January 8, 2017 is Spheres.

What comes to mind when you think of spheres? Maybe the globe of our world is a good example? There is often more to the word than meets the eye, however. Consider spheres of knowledge or influence, and how these may affect our lives. This would include the family and friends we see daily or on a regular basis who help shape our life experience. Do you find you have grown together with others or apart from them? In what spheres might you be an anchor for others? Spheres of community in which we participate make up part of the overall tapestry of our lives, all part of the web of connection. What we do in life changes along with us, as part of the acquisition of understanding that is fostered along our journey. ~ Blessings!

Conscious Quickie: Inactivity

9 Jan

Conscious Quickie for January 7, 2017 is Inactivity.

Do you see what I did here? As an example of inactivity, the conscious quickie for the day was left undone and published a day later. This inactivity freed up very little of my day, in fact. It made me think of other ways inactivity might leave voids in our lives. Did something else come along to fill up the time? Sure, it did; but it was not part of this daily minder to become more conscious, though. Thus, it felt more like a gaping hole than the simple act of being consciously inactive. Might there be times when inactivity is useful? One of the best reasons for being inactive or “not doing” something would be if the action hurt others. Going one day without thinking of consciousness…was that harmful, or could it be? This is something we can only answer for ourselves. ~ Blessings!

Conscious Quickie: Change

6 Jan

Conscious Quickie for January 6, 2017 is Change.

Here we are, almost a week into the new year, and it is a good time to be conscious of change. Many of us resolve to make various changes, so how is it going? Are we remaining conscious of the many ways change can affect us, or that we can effect change? Is there one main thing you seek to change this year? It is never too late to change, even though some people believe ‘you cannot teach an old dog new tricks.’ Change is a constant thing, as nature shows us. We can change with each breath we take, since the one we take now is different than the last. Our conscious awareness is the same way; what is true now often changes with greater understanding. Do not sweat the details, but remain aware and conscious of the little steps we can take to change every day ~ Blessings!

Conscious Quickie: Heritage

5 Jan

Conscious Quickie for January 5, 2017 is Heritage.

“In everything you say and do, you bring your heritage along with you.” This little rhyme suggests that we are the sum of our parts…our heritage. There is another saying that tells us we are the result of generations of love. Our being here is the evidence that we have a history to honor, and a deep background that goes farther back than many of our working memory banks will recall. Some of us attuned to energy and consciousness may be able to recall some bit of our heritage, whether it is personal or cultural. In expanding our consciousness to consider heritage, rather than keeping our heritage strictly in the past, let us consider that we breathe some renewed life into it on our leg of the journey. Are we the best we can be, and do we honor our heritage in all that we say and do? ~ Blessings!

Conscious Quickie: Service

4 Jan

Conscious Quickie for January 4, 2017 is Service.

Service is a heart-generated action, generally attributed toward a greater good. We may take on the action of service for one person or many. Despite the often-prevailing idea that services should be paid for, there are many benefits to non-profit-related service. Gifting service, or being of-service without the idea of getting something back immediately, reinforces the ‘good that comes back to us’ in a roundabout way. We may offer a service directly, yet reap larger dividends when we least expect it. Many people put their lives at risk in the performance of service, which makes it a critical topic to consider. Today, we contemplate the many ways we may be of service and extend these heart-based loving actions to others. ~ Blessings!

Conscious Quickie: Family

2 Jan

Conscious Quickie for January 2, 2017: Family

We all come from and belong to some type of family. Family is an integral part of our heritage and societal structure. Whether we consider a family as one that consists of a married couple or a small, ‘nuclear’ family, or one much larger that includes aunts, uncles, and ‘cousins by the dozens,’ the concept of being in a family is pretty much what we define it to be. There are those who are without family, yet find those who extend love and care that is more than a mere friendly encounter or relationship. For our human family as a whole, we are part of a much larger family of creation; one sphere in an ecosystem; a string in a tapestry that comprises the cosmic whole. We must maintain awareness and active consciousness with all our family members ~ Blessings!

Conscious Quickie: Choice

2 Jan

Conscious Quickie for January 1, 2017 is Choice.

All we do is a matter of choice; all that matters is choice. The choice options we have may vary between two things, such as in the flip of a coin, or we may have the choice from a multitude of options. When it comes to choice there are usually a plethora at hand. But, to make the ‘best’ choice, we may be systematically and maybe culturally designed to make our choice from the best of two, or the two most prominent: the proverbial fork in the road. Conscious growth asks us to become more aware of the larger number of options we have at our disposal, and to think outside the box. When faced with choice in this new year, consider the broader options we each have, then make the best choice that rings true with you ~ Blessings!

The Message for 2017 is Balance and Harmony

27 Dec

Consciousness Live…for the Attuned

By Kathy Custren

Balance and Harmony Take Center Stage in the Year Ahead

The message of cosmic consciousness intercepted is strong and focused when it comes to both balance and harmony for the year ahead. We are encouraged to keep this greater sense, this larger view, of balance and harmony at the forefront of everything we say and do. As we wonder why, the old Police song intones, “Every breath you take, every move you make, [we’ll] be watching you.”

To clarify, we do not have to start right on the first day of January. We can begin putting this alignment of balance and harmony into action “now,” as we read this. It is our greatest learning curve for the time being. In our now, we face many challenges; the year of 2016 has not been a particularly kind one. As many beloved members of our earthly family depart to rejoin the celestial realms: their ‘star’ energies are now returned to spirit.

Is This “Year of Great Return” Over?

The troubling, overarching sense of imbalance, unfairness, and fear of a ‘police state’ that so many of us feel in many places on our planet manifests because we tend to forget our part in the larger scheme of things. We lose sight of our spiritual connection to the greater good. The health of all and our earthly home resonates as a string in the greater tapestry. When focus narrows to our own physical discord, this disturbance carries into the spiritual/cosmic realms, too.

But is this ‘year of great return’ over, we want to know. It is not about cosmetics or looking good. The many people, plants, and animals that are no longer with us is staggering, and the loss touches us deep in our souls, as we see the water protectors come into prominence. All of us are part of the great return if we open ourselves to the concept. Once more, the cosmic message related to balance and harmony is clear—there are few promises, and many possibilities.

Practice and Action Carry Different Energy Signatures

Many of our departed beloveds are ones who performed remarkably in their time with us. They remind us that practice and action are two different things. The spiritual message is clear that we are not to “work on” balance and harmony to achieve the promise of “world peace” or some nebulous future goal such as that. Our lives are not some ‘dress rehearsal,’ where we ‘practice’ being something we are not.

Rather, we are asked to “do” it; to “be” in alignment with balance and harmony with each breath and action we take going forward. We are given stern warning that while many of us may be concerned about ‘big brother’ watching our physical moves on video, there is an even larger surveillance in place spiritually, as well. We must put our unique gifts into everything we do (every breath, every step) with balance and harmony as our guide.

What Does this Cosmic Message Mean for Us?

Our challenge is twofold: we know finding balance and harmony is important in what we do. What many of us may not recognize is its importance in our inactivity as well. Is our ‘downtime’ something that also serves the greater good? Many of us may see a parallel between late-night debauchery on Saturday if we go to church on Sunday. One ‘good’ does not always cancel the other ‘bad’ out, as those ‘sins’ can still come back to haunt us later.

The second aspect is the disharmony that goes unchecked. It is more than simply singing out-of-tune. The harmonics are areas of our lives that must be kept in check, in much the way we might tune a musical instrument. Various weather or circumstantial conditions may cause us to lose the essence of our vibration. Systems that go unchecked fall into discord, which is where we find things today.

What Lies Ahead, and for How Long?

The challenge found in this message of harmony and balance is not different than any other. The challenge is in applying it in our lives. Many sensitive people feel/know “something is up.” They keenly intercept the cosmic ‘warning shot’ that changes lie ahead in our path. Some have already moved house, changed jobs, cut back, or otherwise recognize the signs of this greater ‘shuffling’ taking place.

As with most messes, the greater cleansing lies ahead. How we tackle this comes with keeping balance and harmony as a vanguard, remembering that cosmic or ‘God time’ is different than the way we track it here. We may find balance and harmony in doing work alone; others may need to unite/find harmony and balance to get something accomplished. Could we find greater attunement and fruition in working together for the greater good? As always, our spiritual counterparts in the cosmic realms are watching.

Remembering the Basics of Balance and Harmony

Putting balance and harmony into practice should not be difficult. As young babies, we toddle our way to balance and refined movement. As we learn to use our voices, we learn to use the words that work best for what we need and want. In both instances, we learn to act and speak in ways that do not bring harm to ourselves and others.

With these simple basics, we go forth. The changes we undergo force many of us to adapt to very difficult circumstances. There are times when we are social and life goes well, and there are times when we do not play well with others. Finding that right or positive kind of balance and harmony can be tricky. Hence, it helps to have family and good friends to get through life together.

Remembering Alchemy and the Elements

There may be entities playing in the sandbox who are greedy and manipulative. If we feed into the greed, we may unwittingly enable their sense of power. Our own sense of being used leaves us feeling hurt. Rather than wallow as victims and enablers, we are encouraged to cut off that which does not serve us well and set new boundaries.

Therefore, nature has its seasons; its alchemical phases of change: Calcination, Dissolution, Separation, Conjunction, Fermentation, Distillation, Coagulation. Where we are in these stages are up to us to determine, and there may be aspects of our lives that also in flux. Having a keen relationship with our most basic elements and how they correspond in our everyday life is important, as water reminds us.

Heed the Message of Balance and Harmony

Sharing in a loving and positive way is key to finding balance and harmony. Parents may talk with their children. Friends do their friends a favor and have the honest talk. Sit together over a warm drink and talk about what balance and harmony in the greater good means to each of us. Find agreement and work to achieve it. It is the way our ancestors kept us all connected.

What does it mean, to be attuned? When it comes to consciousness, one finds a sense of knowing; when there is no angst or anxiety over how one fits into the overall scheme of things. We are part of the whole, connected, finding our way as only we can, with a watchful eye on living The Conundrum–of being cautious and bold; striving to improve while bringing our ancestry forward; listening with our heart and to our spiritual selves, even if it means going on a different path, with no harm intended.

We have greater connection than ever before with the internet. Let us use technological gifts to help, rather than hurt, each other.

The cosmic realms have us in sight,

if we strive to get it right,

if we do align with light,

we will reach the greater height.

Clarity of Singularity

3 Aug

“To understand one thing well is better than understanding many things by halves.”
–Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“A jack-of-all-trades and a master at none.” — Unknown

The Conundrum tells us, in its own, unique way, that there is more to being one person. As confusing as that may sound, we can examine it to find that, even though we may be seen as one person with one set of features and senses, our experience is such that our “one” human package contains many gifts. Even if we have the ability to multi-task, there comes a time when we care and become mindful enough to focus on one activity at a time.

This sense of focused sight, this ability to see one site in the midst of chaos, is something that is a very strong, inherent trait. The facility of concentration is such that it not only causes us to sort out one tiny detail from many. It also causes us to concentrate our energies on that one task or search in order to experience all that there is to see…and be.

All that is contained may be considered to be an individualization; not unlike our own existence and experience. Being able to sense that there is an order to things that happens naturally can lead us to greater joy and freedom in life, as a matter of choice. When we take the time to do one thing and do it right, we learn that, despite duality and chaos, the ups and downs and other fluctuations, we can focus on doing one thing well–no matter what it is.

Many of us are called upon to do more than one thing at a time. Having two hands may be considered both a blessing and a curse. Wearing multiple hats at once, or taking on multiple responsibilities is a difficult skill to manage or sustain indefinitely. This kind of juggling can cause mistakes and imbalances to occur.

We soon learn that experience, maybe even being bold enough to call it positive experience, is best obtained through concentration. It is what the mystics of old tell us to do–to focus our energies. It is what safety experts tell us now when they warn us of the dangers of distracted driving.

Sure, we can do more things at once; however, it is a good thing to ask ourselves why we are doing that. Is it because we can, or because we need to? Are we too greedy to share the workload? Think about that a moment. Would we rather take on the stress of too much responsibility, leave something either partially or completely undone, than to focus simply on doing just one thing at a time?

Time always seems to be a factor to us here in this realm of existence, but what if it was not? What if we could flow with the idea of being timeless beings, who end up having all the time in the world that we might need to accomplish a task? Could we be comfortable with the role of playing ‘one small part’ in some greater design, understanding that we have opportunities to try again, or to do something over–and maybe better–in the process?

This is not to say we do not need a goal or deadline. The purpose of having a goal is to reach some eventual, desired outcome. We need not let go of a larger goal, such as having a peaceful world in our lifetime, or righting the wrongs we have inflicted upon the Earth. Deadlines are wonderful for reflecting on our accomplishments or making revisions.

Might we have a connection to a job, campaign, or some other effort–a shift change, perhaps–where we can appreciate its development and growth, facilitate that process, and achieve a sense of completion? Completion, without as much of the time-driven stress associated with a project’s steps along the way. Knowing a job is well done can be a rewarding feeling.

Understanding that we will get to a particular completion point provides a chance to breathe new life into the same project, or start another phase of existence. We learn that experience is concentrated energy. We have many opportunities at hand to unite and really make a difference to either change something or create something (a)new.

We can make aspects of our ‘one life’ better, without as much of the destruction that accompanies creation. Utilizing sustainable energy, whether it is our own human resource or some other part of our elemental experience, will help ensure continuation. We discover that using a finite resource only leads to a [dead] end.

The concept of manifestation and use of energies is more than pie-in-the-sky thinking or some woo-woo, magical mumbo-jumbo. It is no “secret,” since it is observable. Cosmically, there is a continuous motion and experience underway of which we are but one small fractal. We learn to either maneuver within the sphere of energy or get out of its way.

E pluribus Unum after all.

For our consideration. ~ Namaste ~ Blessings!
